How Broadband Backup Works

Hughes offers a number of standard broadband backup plans designated by upstream speeds. You choose the plan by site with the speed that will support your mission-critical applications in the event your landline fails. Hughes offers plans from 64 Kbps to 1 Mbps upstream. All plans support up to 8 Mbps downstream.

For seamless fail-over and fail-back to and from the satellite connection, the Hughes satellite router supports the industry standard Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP).
